Janet Nau Franck

Janet Nau Franck MBA, BSN, CIC, FAPIC has worked in the field of infection prevention and control for over 30 years with experience in all healthcare settings. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Louis University, an MBA from Maryville University, has been certified in infection prevention and control (CIC) since 1983 and was recently awarded the achievement of Fellow of APIC. Janet has acted in both the capacity as a director and as a consultant in acute care and long-term care facilities, ambulatory surgery and endoscopy centers, imaging centers, and hemodialysis centers to advance program development, survey readiness and infection prevention compliance.

Janet has served APIC in numerous leadership positions, including as the founding president of the St. Louis chapter, member of the National Board of Directors, and as 1999 President of International APIC. She has acted as an industry consultant to several large healthcare corporations to promote research and development. Janet is a respected author, speaker, and consultant and has authored a number of publications. This includes having recently acted as an editor of the APIC publication "Infection Prevention Guidelines in Long Term Care Facilities" (2019), and received a blue ribbon award as the lead author of the APIC abstract entitled "The Red Box, An Innovative Method to Improve Isolation Precaution Compliance and Reduce Costs," for innovation and creativity in the field of Infection Prevention. This groundbreaking publication has streamlined the practice of isolation in thousands of hospitals world wide.
